“ Great dining experience, great servers, and the food is delicious. I'm not sure where else you'd get $3 beers on tap in the East Village! Highly recommended. ”
“ Came to this nondescript Japanese restaurant before The Hellp concert as we were looking to take full advantage of the $3 beer hack that runs all night, every night. This place is pretty authentically Japanese: the waitress asked if we wanted one of the booths that only had floor seating, they don't even have an English name on google maps, and the bathrooms had bidets. I can't understand for the life of me why we don't make that common practice here stateside. Bidets are so clutch. We ended up getting 3 Sapporos each, as this $3 beer is the gift that keeps on giving. It's busting up inflation. We split the shrimp tempura appetizer that was pretty decent, and got a sushi roll each. The sushi was pretty mid, but that was my expectation walking in. My Spicy tuna roll was 6/10. I should have got the udon, but if there's one thing about me I learn from my mistakes. I will absolutely be back here for that $3 Sapporo beer that inflation sees in its nightmares. “ Wonderful atmosphere, huge sake menu, kind and helpful staff, amazing sushi!! My partner and I stopped in on our way home, it just happened to be on the way and we were hungry, but was exactly what we needed. Nice place to get the evening started, plenty of bars nearby. ”
“ I had a nice meal, here. I just came to this place with a friend and we ordered several dishes, which were all good. Seaweed salad: as good as you'd expect. Shishamo: very good. The fish was tender and flavorful. Saba shioyaki: divine. You can't miss this. Ika geso: not for everybody, but I love fried squid tentacles, so it hit the spot. Sunomono: very fresh sashimi. A good way to get a taste of different fish without hitting the wallet too much. Eel avocado roll and salmon avocado roll: both were fine; nothing to write home about, but solid. Overall, it was a satisfying meal in which we tried many options. I wasn't stuffed at the end but felt full. Portions weren't too small and service was reasonably fast (yet not rushed). I'd definitely return. ”
“ This place offers affordable meals for the serving size. the tempura udon was gigantic & could be shared between 2 people. The sashimi set was just ok, wouldn't get it again. The service was great & the shop is small but cozy. ”
“ Great, solid place in the East Village with Japanese-speaking waitstaff!! I can't believe I've never been here! I used to rely on Sharaku on 9th Street (now gone), and this seems so much better in its authenticity with tatami mats, food prep, atmosphere, and the waitstaff I want to kick myself! I also hope to see them incorporate more vegetarian and vegan items into their menu: They're off to a good start, serving bamboo waribashi (chopsticks). It's the only way for a future for us all. ”
“ This is an incredibly cool looking restaurant on the corner of 10th St. and first Avenue. They have five dollar beer specials which were incredibly cool and they bring it to you in a frosted glass. ”
“ I really like the udon here, I think it's better than Raku. I have come here for the Niku udon twice now. The broth is very flavorful, the udon is the perfect texture, and the beef is fresh and tender. My friend got the katsu curry and it was just so-so. I've also tried the sashimi here and it's also just so-so. But five stars for the udon, and the ambience! They have both indoor and outdoor seating. Come try the udon!! ”
